Don't bore me with the details, no really please TRY to be interesting

Sometimes it is very hard for me to take serious people seriously.

Most of the time their seriousness is due to something dark and terrible in their past, but really, who wants to spend their entire day talking to a strait facts statistics type of person. I mean, you don't have to be childish or vulgar to be interesting or funny.

I always dread having to meet and interact with these types of people because I end up going to extreme lengths to get them to unwind. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. All I know is that if I have to listen to another unenthusiastic re-telling of how some guy watched a perfect game of baseball and then went to Target to buy some pottery for their mom I will forgo all social etiquette and just walk away.

Ugh, that's the last time I use my "you know what they say about Target joke" on someone that uninteresting. I feel like I wasted an entire hour filling bad conversation with awkward bouts of laughter because I thought he was joking the entire time, but in reality this guy was completely serious about EVERYTHING.

  1. Oh cheesus, those types! I remember trying to hug one of those types and after they acted like I molested them....so I never hug people out of turn now. Weird, I know. What DO they say about Walmart?

  2. I agree, people like that are hard to deal with. I know, because I used to be one of them until I realized how much of a killjoy I really was. That I could be myself at school, and not everyone would hate me because I was fat or too smart. I think I did I complete 180 in some respects. The change was for the better of course, and while I can still be serious when it matters, I am much more goofy.

And okay, I'll bite. What do they say about Target?

  3. I 100% agree.

Oh and this is your fellow foods writer on MixTape. I'm just curious if you're still interested in posting even though there is no schedule. I've been posting every once in awhile but if you would like we could just do our own switch off...okay this might not any sense. Just thought it'd be worth a try to ask you XD

  4. i'm glad to see that you've made an awesome friend in my blogger buddy kim as well! isn't she great? and the type of personality that you are describing really irks me too. i try so hard to not dislike such traits in people, but i find myself wanting to either walk away, as you have described, or trying to make them lighten up. it truly is for their own good, right? levity is healthy!
