So it goes

Graduation is tomorrow, and much like whenever I have birthdays, I don't feel any different.

I've put in at least five applications to different places for a summer job, and I'm filling out even more today so hopefully something turns up.

As I've mentioned before, I've kept my decision to join the Air Force pretty low key in order to avoid freaking people out, but it seems that I have been thwarted by my AP English teacher's senior scrapbook page.

As other kids were flipping through it I could hear collective "WHAT?"'s being uttered across the classroom followed by a string of questions directed towards me. Honestly I feel like other people are taking this whole situation worse than I did.

But me, being me, I softened their shock by joking about how excited I am for the M16 training and how badass I'll be after I get done with basic training. By the way, if any of you are interested, this is what I'll actually be doing. Call me demented, but some of it kind of looks fun.

Anyways, I still have a few months at home, so if they REALLY wanted to hang out with me before I leave all they have do to is hit me up. Aside from my running schedule, opening up my etsy shop, and getting a part-time job I'm not going to be too terribly busy.

  1. Well even after just basic training you'll be pretty damn badass. Good luck finding a job too, I'm not sure how successful that venture is going to be. Don't forget to get someone to look after your etsy shop if you're going to be stuck at a base. A guy I knew who joined the army thanks to conscription got to use the net sometimes, but not a lot.

  2. Good luck finding a job. I too am looking for one right now. When will this damn recession end??

  3. I am crossing my fingers for you finding a job! I am in the same boat, but I haven't put in any applications...Yeah, I should get on that.

And I totally understand keeping your decision low key. I kept my acceptance to Macalester hidden from people for a while, particularly because they were always less-than-impressed. Only when THEIR college decision was made would they ask me, and even then they didn't care.

P.S. Your graduation card is in the mail. You may not get it tomorrow, but hopefully you get it before the weekend is over! :)

  4. YAY at graduation lovely! :)

Good luck on the job hunting, I hear that pain!

Joining the air force would be brilliant adventure so don't let anyone else make you think otherwise! It'll be amazing!

  5. Hurrah for graduation! WOO, CLASS OF 2012. Okay, I'm done.

Keeping everything on the DL is a smart decision! I found is really obnoxious when all the people in my grade would post Facebook statuses about every single college they got into, and then proceed to list the amount of scholarship money that they got... Yeah, I know.

You are going to be BEYOND badass once basic training is done with! :D

Best of luck with the hunt for jobs, and happy summer.

  6. Have a wonderful summer! And I hope you find a job soon. :D
I'm looking for one as well. teehee.

  7. Well after training like that you'd be able to kick my ass.

Actually, I think you might not have a problem with that even without training. ._.

  8. Hope graduation was fun and have a lovely summer! :)
