Skillz

So Christopher has been trying to get people to look at his sketches that are up at the Tribute to Doodlers page, and since I'm a great person and whatnot I'm going to tell ALL OF YOU to go visit it. Pronto.

Anyways, after seeing Christopher's work I got a little inspired, so I made a portrait of him. As you can see, it's very lifelike.

From inside my sketchbook

As promised from the last post, some snapshots from my sketchbook. I was originally going to scan them, but I got lazy. In fact, the only reason that I can type this right now is because I had a half day of school due to standardized testing. I'm currently ignoring the giant MOUNTAIN of homework that I have to do in order to blog... I really need to straighten out my priorities.
1) A preliminary rough sketch of a roots and influence assignment in my art class. 2) A little doodle my friend Caity drew in my book. 3) A Where's Waldo card I snagged from a small child that got it in a happy meal or something.
4) Some notes and reminders, and a tortoise falling into a koi pond. 5) Piggy Man is pretty self explanatory. 6) A quick sketch of my grandma's Irish wolfhound Sugar.
7) A little thing inspired by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. 8) A recent question that had crossed my mind while reading the March issue of TIME magazine. 9) A Teddy Roosevelt quote that I really enjoyed.
I omitted the more mundane pages that had physics notes and random cat people on them because I was, well, lazy. Anyways, yeah. Back to homework.

Thanksgiving Doodles

Right now, after being hit by a double whammy of bad news, I don't know what to do. I'm not ready to talk, or even think about what is going on around me. It's like I was in this cool fish bowl, that had problems but worked, and then all of a sudden, without warning or heads up I just get dumped into a large dirty aquarium in the back of Petco.

Ok, maybe that's a little hard to catch, but you get what I'm saying right? The goldfish (me) is still shocked, and may or may not go crazy from the big change.

So, in order to avoid talking without using fish allegories I'm just going to post all of the random doodles I did today when I should have been talking to family. The traditional napkin doodle! Of course it was done at the dinner table, when I should have been eating my second helping of pie.Naked baby! My grandma keeps a pad of this free hospital paper they give you as a parting gift when you leave the hospital all around the house. I drew this when I should have been helping clean up. Oops.Inspired by all the studying for AcaDec I've been doing, I drew a picture of Jean Jacques Rousseau. I probably should have drawn it in pencil so my shading would be nicer, but I only had my pen on me at the time. Too bad in my doodle I made him look like a caricature.... I swear, his forehead is usually not this large. If you can guess the artist I spoofed I'll send you a package of oreos. I thought it would be funny if I placed one of my filipino family members in French Revolution getup. I think all of my studying has given me French Revolution fever.

first day prediction

This will most likely be me, Monday. Hunched over my schedule because 1) I didn't bother to memorize my schedule and room numbers, and 2) I have this massive load of crap on my back. Hehe. 5 minute doodles are the bomb.

From the deepest part of my shallow heart.

A little doodle of the thing I told Root when he ambushed me on Facebook chat.

He mentioned something about sticking up for me and telling someone off who was talking bad about me. I suspect that that someone is one of 2 unhappy people on the Debate team. Oh well. Screw whomever that was.

Anyways, so far the chemical straightener is doing great. No frizz, no curl. It's amazing. I wonder how long it's going to last though....

Tomorrow is meet the teacher day. Oh joys. I can't wait. Then Friday I have an eye exam. I can't wait. Just another appointment with a doctor who is going to tell me that my eyesight has gotten even worse. Oh the wonderful advantages of nearsightedness! Not.

Then starting next Monday is school! People! Crowds! Boys with sagging pants that give you the urge to pants them! Nothing makes me happier than waking up at 5:30 and getting to school at 6:50 for drivers ed!

I need one of those nifty coffee cups with the cool seal-able lids.

Napkin Doodle

Let me start off with the fact that The Fall, starring Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies) is an excellent movie. It reminded me a bit of MirrorMask, in a way that the storytelling seemed so vivid. I find the little girl in the movie absolutely adorable! Here's a few of my favourite clips from the movie... Hehe... throwing oranges at the priest....

and

It's a cute movie, and at times a bit funny due to situational irony. I give it 4 1/2 stars. Also, I like drawing on napkins. The texture is too cool!

Yesterday, I ment to upload this, but I slept in all day...... I know, shame on me for sleeping in on a Saturday, but honestly, I didn't even realize it was all day until I woke up at 8pm...

Guess Grandma didn't really need my help with anything. Most likely my parents are pissed beyond measure for not waking up and spending the day with her or something, but grandma said she spent most of the day in bed too, so I guess we both didn't miss too much of each other.

Summer Doodles

Some mindless summer doodles, all done in under a minute. I like drawlin in inks!
